To enter the Catan Online World, you need to download and install the client software that matches your installed operating system.

The Catan Online World client software is available for the following three operating systems:

• For the automatic update function (recommended), you need write permission in the entire installation directory. This also applies for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux.
• An interface has been installed for the originally independent Classic Card Game program (not "The Rivals for Catan"). By means of this interface, players can join the Card Game via the Catan Online World. The program is not part of the COW installation package and has to be installed separately. Please note that the Card Game is available only for Windows. To play the game, you need to modify your network configuration.
