| Catan Online World - Catan Card Game - Tournament Game |
|
In the Tournament Game, each player assembles his/her own deck of cards from all cards of the Base Game and the Theme Sets. A deck of cards consists of exactly 33 cards. Each player chooses 3 cards for his/her hand; the remaining 30 cards are used to form the 4 personal Expansion Card stacks. The biggest difference to the Base Game therefore consists in the fact that there are no shared Expansion Card stacks; instead, each player uses his/her own Expansion Card stacks. Another difference concerns the Event Card stack. In addition to the 5 fixed Event Cards (2 Civil War, 2 Plague, and 1 Year End), each player contributes 4 Event Cards of his/her choice. Thus, the Event Card stack includes a total of 13 cards.
Other Rule ChangesIn principle, the game is played according to the rules of the Base Game. Only few exceptions exist:
The Deck Editor
The Catan Online World installation already contains some pre-configured decks of cards for beginners. The cards of all Theme Sets and the Base Game are listed in alphabetical order in the Card Pool. If you first click on a card and then on “Card Information,” you get further explanations regarding the selected card. In addition, the image of the card you just selected is displayed on the right side. Double-click on a card, and it goes to the upper Selection window. You can also drag and drop the card into the upper window. If the card was an Event Card, it goes to the folder “Event Card Stack;” all other cards go to the folder “Development Card Stack.” Once you have selected 33 cards in your folder “Development Card Stack”, you have to decide on the 3 cards for your hand. Click on a card, and then click on “Transfer Selection to Hand of Cards.” Now the card is in your folder “Hand of Cards.” You can switch back and forth between the 3 folders and also discard cards. If you like your selection, save your deck under a name of your choice. From now on, it is available to you for the Tournament Game in the Tavern “The Knight of the Mill.”
