Goldbach has made it - after a close fight with World Village, it managed to reach the top position in the ranking list for the Capital of Catan. And despite a notably lower score, Steinfurt was able to secure third place. We extend our sincere congratulations to all three cities on their achievement.

Since this was the first game period of the new Catan Online World, we decided to send - for once - games packages to all three cities, in recognition of their achievement. To this effect, we will contact the mayors within the next few days. The games may be used as prizes for city tournaments.

Some players were disgruntled because towards the end of the game period, Goldbach was able to gain a lot of ground via relocation of some of its citizens. In this context, we have to say that Goldbach acted properly as far as the existing rules are concerned. Even though we also think that the fact that a city obtains advantage through relocations is not in accordance with the game - as long as the rules allow it and no direct damage is inflicted on other cities, we see no reason to accuse Goldbach of unfair behavior. Independently, it will be on us to modify the rules in such a way that, in the future, relocations can no longer affect the Metagame.

The other cities made tremendous efforts too. Ziegenheim beat Würfelbach to the Champions crown, and Steinfurt positioned itself on place three.

The most successful participants in the Riddle Game were from Goldbach, WorldVillage, and Steinfurt, while the best players of the Dice Game could be found in Bergamon, Steinfurt, and WorldVillage.

By the way, the strongest Hero - named Vengalein - comes from Würfelbach, which made it possible for its citizens to claim the title "City of Defenders" and prevail over Ziegenheim and Erzberg.

The medals for particularly successful participants in the Riddle Game and the Dice Game as well as for the Garden Masters and Heroes of the different cities have already been distributed.

For the 2nd game period, it is planned to give out games packages for the other titles too, which then can be used to award prizes for city tournaments. We think that the winners of the other titles also achieved great successes, and we want to reward them in the future. We'll soon announce more details regarding this matter.

So, congratulations to all cities and their citizens on their success! We say thank you to all players for their participation in this 1st game period.

The 2nd game period starts today at 10 am CET. Then it will finally be spring, at least in our Catan Online World. All the titles received can be viewed in the Library.
