Multicatan - Instructions

Multicatan is a variation of the board game "The Settlers of Catan", with rules from its expansion "The Seafarers of Catan."

Home islandObject of the Game

You begin the game with one settlement and one city on your home island in the middle of an unknown ocean. Your goal is to explore your surroundings by road and ship, discover new lands, and build settlements and cities there.

Each settlement is worth 1 victory point, each city 2 Victory Points. You try to accumulate as many Victory Points as possible, in order to get a good spot in the PlayCatan rankings.

Duration of the Game

On the first day of the game you get your first turn, and another turn on each following day. A game of Multicatan consists of a total of 7 game turns and therefore ends after 7 game days. After completing a turn, or if you have interrupted a turn, your game remains stored on the PlayCatan server.

A new game day begins daily, always at the same time you first started the current game. This means that for each player, a new game day begins depending on his/her individual starting time.

Please note: Once a game has started, it cannot be prematurely abandoned. You can start a new game only after the the current game is finished on game day 7.

NeighborsGame Turn

On each turn, you receive resources that you can use to build roads, ships, settlements, and cities.

During the course of the game you will discover neighbors, maybe up to 5 of them. With these neighbors you can trade and exchange messages. However, your neighbors are also your competitors for treasures and the best settlement sites.

GlobeInternet

Important: You must maintain your Internet connection while you are playing.

The spinning globe indicates Internet activity. If you should lose your Internet connection while playing, you have to log into the game again.
